Brides Can Go For Black Dresses

Many years ago in Rome brides married with the same white robe worn daily, but wore a purple veil adorned with a wreath. In time of the Lombards (Germanic people originally from Northern Europe), brides wore a long black robe with a red cloak. Why not getting married with black dresses?
